Introduction
HECA-R is an interdisciplinary forum for research in the private higher education sector in Ireland. HECA is hosting a national hybrid event to showcase the research activity of HECA colleges as conducted by faculty, academic managers, academic support staff and learners. The event will also highlight how HECA colleges contribute to national developments in relation to open access. In addition to showcasing some of the HECA research supports and outputs, the event will promote knowledge sharing as well as contribute to the national discourse on research and open science with peers from academic institutions across the sector. The aim of the event is to highlight the rich, diverse range of research activity undertaken by the staff and learners of HECA Colleges, along with establishing new conversations and initiatives about research, sector wide.

This call for papers applies to the following sections of the event:
- Spotlight on Faculty Publishing
- Open Access Journal Publishing
- Student Thesis Showcase
- Research Support Initiatives
Spotlight on Faculty Publishing Submit an abstract of no more than 200 words outlining your research. This will lead to a presentation of ten minutes’ duration.
Student Thesis Showcase Submit an abstract of no more than 200 words outlining your research. This will lead to a presentation of ten minutes’ duration.
Open Access Journal Publishing Submit an abstract of no more than 200 words outlining the ethos, operation and content of your journal. This will lead to a presentation of ten minutes’ duration.
Research Support Initiatives Submit an abstract of no more than 200 words outlining your research support initiatives. This will lead to a presentation of ten minutes’ duration.
Submission and Selection Process
Please submit your abstract here. An independent panel of experts will make the final selection. All submissions will receive a response.
Submissions open from July 11th to October 7th.
